A field bet is a craps bet that the next roll will be a two, three, four, nine, ten, eleven or twelve. Three, four, nine, ten and eleven are even money bets while two and twelve usually pay two to one. Huge casino win. Casino rules may vary such as some casinos may put the five instead of nine in the field bet. The pass line and don’t pass wagers are the most commonly placed bets in craps and also the most straightforward. A shooter will usually have to place one of them before making their come-out roll; and in some casinos, players must make one of them if they also want to place other wagers. The whirl also known as the world bet in craps is the bet that is a combination of bets that includes the horn bet and the any seven bet in the game. The horn bet itself is a combination of different bets in which you are wagering on the shooter rolling a 2, 3, 11 or 12. Any of these numbers wins the horn bet. It is a single-roll bet type always placed by the stickman in the center section of the table's layout. A truly unique bet type, the Horn allows players to combine four individual wagers into one. The Horn covers all three Craps numbers (2,3 and 12) as well as the number 11. Any Craps: A bet that the next roll will be 2, 3, or 12; pays 7:1 Any Seven: A bet that the next roll will be 7; pays 4:1 Apron: The outer edge of the felt table layout At Risk: Usually, when a player's bet is active or 'in action' Backline: Same as the Don't Pass Line Big 6: A bet that a 6 will be rolled before a 7 comes up Big 8: A bet that an 8 will be rolled before a 7 comes up.
The other part of the whirl bet is the any 7 wager. All you need to do there is get a seven.
This bet is interesting because the any seven bet serves as a type of hedge bet. For example, if the shooter rolls a 7, the player will win just as much as they would lose on the horn, essentially breaking even. The player would win a profit on the horn bet though, but not as much since they would lose some money on the 7 bet. The world bet is all about risk management.
The odds of Whirl Bet
The actual odds of winning the whirl bet are 2:1. The payout odds are a little more complicated though. If the shooter rolls a 2 or 12, the payout is 26:5. If the shooter rolls a 3 or 11, the payout is 11:5. If the shooter rolls a 7, the payout is 0:1, which results in a push and you get your money back. Overall, the total house edge ends up being 13.33%. So given how complicated this bet is, the house edge is pretty bad and not good for the player. Although, it depends on the rules of the casino. Some casinos allow a payout of 5:1 on sevens instead of 4:1, which would provide some major improvements in the odds.
Examples of this bet to understand how it works
Here are few examples to understand this bet. Let’s say you wager $5 on the World and the two or twelve craps roll. The game sugar smash. Depending on the odds displayed on the layout the payoff will be somewhere around $30. The dealer will pay you $30 minus $4 – which provides the money to re-bet the losing numbers. Net pay is $26. If the three craps rolled, this pays $15 minus the $4 in losing bets – or $11.
When a craps number rolls on the Come Out you lose your Pass Line bet, so this bet works as a hedge in that regards – an expensive hedge, but a hedge nonetheless. In a $10 game you’d turn a net $1 profit on a three craps and a $16 profit on a two or twelve. If the eleven rolls you collect net $11 on the World bet plus $10 on the Pass Line for a total of $21. If the seven wins you’re “paid” net $4 on the Any Sevens portion of the World bet. That $4 keeps the Horn portion of your World bet up to win again, so it is effectively a “Push”

If you’re going to bet prop action look at it as an “entertainment” bet. Set aside a certain portion of your bankroll for “fun” bets. As long as you’re winning those bets then they are great. Norsk casino online. But don’t blow the entire bankroll chasing a World win. Give it a few shots and then focus on your other winning bets like Free Odds and Place Betting the Six and Eight. When playing at a land based casino, the dealer would probably know what a whirl or world bet is and they would just do everything automatically for you.
The Worst Bets at Craps by Frank Scoblete
The Captain of Craps, the legendary Atlantic City player who is the world record holder for the longest roll before a seven out (147 rolls!) calls the worst bets at the craps table the Crazy Crapper bets because you have to be crazy to make them. Yet, many players happily throw their money (away) on these bets, probably not knowing just how fierce a house edge they have. They think because they get a lot of money back that somehow or another these bets are worth making.
The casino doesnt dare call the Crazy Crapper bets by such a pejorative name or players might think twice before making them. Instead, these awful bets are called 'proposition bets' and they either win or lose on the next throw at least for most of them. So here they are for your delight, amazement and amusement.
Keep in mind when we say a house edge of 10 percent, it means you will lose $10 for every $100 you wager on this 'proposition' in the long run. Now that is crazy.
2, 12: A bet that a 2, known as 'snake eyes' or the 12, known as 'boxcars' will be thrown on the next roll. Usually pays 30 to 1 and the house edge 13.89 percent.
3, 11: A bet that a 3 or 11, known as 'Yo-Eleven!' will be thrown on the next roll. Pays 15 to 1 and the house edge is 11.11 percent. Interesting that the 11 has an 11.11 percent house edge.

Any 7: A bet that a 7, known as 'Big Red,' (which is where your bankroll will be) will be thrown next. Pays four to one and the house edge is a monstrous 16.67 percent the worst bet in the game. You can also do this bet differently and get paid 13 to 3, by making three hop bets on 1-6, 2-5, and 3-4. The house edge is then reduced to 11.11 percent.
Any craps: A combination wager that the next decision will be a 2, 3, or 12. This bet pays off at seven to one and the house edge 11.11 percent.
Field bet: A combination wager that the next decision will be a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. The 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 will pay even money but the 2 and 12 will usually pay two to one. In some casinos, the 12 will pay three to one. If the 12 pays at two to one, the house edge is 5.56 percent, if the 12 pays three to one the house edge is drops to 2.78 percent.
Hop Bets: Name your number 'Give me 2:3 on the hop!' or 'Give me 6:3 on the hop!' The shooter rolls that exact number and you win. If you bet two different numbers as in the 2 and 3 the payoff will be 15 to 1 with a house edge of 11.11 percent. If you take a hard number, for example 2 and 2, the payoff will be 30 to 1 with a house edge of 13.89. Note that there are already proposition bets for the hardways but those are not one-roll bets.
Horn Bet: One of the dumbest sayings in craps is 'See a horn, bet a horn,' brought to you by the silliest craps 'experts' on the planet. The horn is actually four bets in one with one dollar placed on the 2, 3, 11, and 12. The payoffs are the same as betting each number by itself which are a dumb bets to begin with. The house edge on the horn is 12.5 percent. The player may also bet in increments of five dollars, putting the extra dollar on whichever of the four numbers he wishes. You hear a player say, 'Give me a horn high two,' and the bet is apportioned one dollar on the 3, 11, and 12 with two dollars on the 2. The horn high 2 and horn high 12 have a casino edge of 12.78 percent, and the 3 and 11 horn high bets have a house edge of 12.22 percent. If someone says to you, 'See a horn, bet a horn' run away.

World or Whirl Bet: The horn wager with the 7 added to it. The player bets in increments of five dollars, with one dollar on the 2, 3, 7, 11, and 12. The house edge is 13.33 percent. 'See a whirl, bet a whirl,' aaarrrrgggghhhh!
